Happy Wednesday! Wedding season is in full swing and I couldn’t be more excited. Since Brad and I had our wedding almost 2 months ago, it’s been so nice to relax and think about other people’s weddings. As a wedding guest, it is extremely important to keep in mind what outfit you are wearing to the special event. Today I’ve collected a few helpful tips to create the perfect wedding guest outfit.
Wedding Guest Outfit Tips:
Know The Dress Code //
Before you even think about what outfit you are going to wear, you need to determine what the wedding theme is going to be. The themes can be white tie, black tie, formal, beach formal, semi-formal (or dressy casual), and casual. Once you have determined the theme, then it is time to start shopping.
It’s Not About You //
While it’s fun to buy something new, make sure that the outfit you select is not something that is too showy that you steal the show. The night is about the bride and groom and not about yourself.
Classy Not Trashy //
When selecting your outfit, make sure that you keep yourself covered. Most weddings have some sort of entertainment whether it be a band or a DJ which means at some point of the night, you’re going to be dancing. Keep this in mind! While everyone loves to show themselves off, be sure that you are showing other features off like your back, legs, or shoulders. While showing off your legs is great, the dress or skirt you select should be long enough that nobody is going to get a view of you that they don’t want to see.
If you’re struggling on what to wear, don’t be afraid to ask the bride or someone in the bridal party. It’s better to be prepared than show up completely over-dressed or under-dressed. Also remember, when in doubt, pick something that can be versatile.
This stunning blue maxi dress was sent to me from Tobi. I’m wearing a size medium and it fits true to size. While the dress is a bit out of my comfort zone, I love the way it looks. The plunging neckline is sexy but not too sexy. Meanwhile the back is open and has a feminine ruffle detail. In addition to the plunging neckline and open back, this dress has a decent size slit and has a shorter slip sewn in.
The earrings were also sent to me but from Demure. Demure offers a Demure Styled monthly earring club subscription that is hand-picked for you. This subscription is extremely affordable at $10 a month or $100 a year. The yearly option gives you 2 free months! Be sure to sign up by June 14 to receive July’s subscription.
