Happy Monday, pretties! A new week is upon us already. Why do the weekends go so quickly? Brad and I had a relaxing weekend full of family on Friday, a photo shoot and wedding Sunday, and a relaxing Sunday for of cleaning, Hallmark movies, blogging, and re-energizing for the week. With a new week, comes new goals. Today I’m going to share with you 5 morning habits for a killer day that are so easy to implement in your morning routine.
I’m sure you’ve heard it all already. Wake up before the birds, hit the gym, have an entire day in before you even start working. I don’t know about you but this sounds incredibly exhausting. The idea of waking up extremely early, working out, showering, going through a strict skin care routine, getting ready, finding time to eat a nutritious breakfast, all before I sit at my desk job for 9 hours is a bit much. These habits are not only quick but they don’t allow for a lot of time before you have to start getting ready.
5 Morning Habits For A Better Day:
Make The Bed //
The first thing you do when you get out of bed is make it. Starting your morning with this quick little habit will not only allow you a moment to wakeup but your room instantly looks clean and put together. Making your bed right away is an accomplishment you can cross off right away. Plus, a made bed will instantly improve your mood. I know I definitely feel happier when my bed is freshly made.
Most people get a minimum of 7 or 8 hours of sleep. That’s a lot of hours for your body to go without any water. Before you drink any coffee, hydrate with a big glass of water. When you drink at least 16 ounces of water in the morning you are kick starting your metabolism, it helps rid your body of toxins, your brain needs the water to function, and surprisingly you’ll eat less.
Wake Up Slowly //
Now that your bed is made and your are hydrated, take a few minutes for yourself in the morning. Even if it’s only 20 minutes, grab yourself a big mug of coffee, flip on the news, take out a motivational book or journal and enjoy your morning. There’s nothing I find more relaxing than slowly waking up with a mug of coffee, my recliner, and my current Netflix binge. The boys, aka my dogs, are slowing waking up with me and it’s just such a peaceful start to my day.
Eat A Healthy Breakfast //
You’ve heard it a 100 times, a successful day is centered around a nutritious breakfast. I’m the worst at remembering to eat breakfast so I turn to Noosa Yoghurt. Noosa, which is located in Colorado, uses only the finest milk from local dairy farms, infused with a touch of pure clover alfalfa honey for a unique, lightly sweetened, totally awesome taste, and uses only cream of the crop fruit. This yogurt not only tastes good but it’s good for you too. Keeping containers of Noosa in my fridge is super convenient and helps me remember to eat breakfast.
Create A To-Do list //
While eating breakfast, whip out your planner or favorite notepad and write down your to-do list. This is a great way to reflect on your day and plan out the tasks you want to complete by the end of the day. I don’t know about you, but I love the satisfaction of crossing tasks off. It makes me feel like I’m making the most of my day.
