Happy Friday, friends! The holiday season is right around the corner which means lots of family dinners, late night, holiday parties, and other fun events. It’s important to stay healthy while trying to fit in all of the wonderful things that comes with the holidays so here are 6 holiday health tips to keep you healthy this season.
6 Holiday Health Tips:
Analyze Your Schedule //
Holidays are hectic, so whether you are trying to stay healthy or just keep your sanity this holiday season, always write down all of your events. This is important because you should analyze your schedule to determine how many events you have going on. Once you analyze your schedule, create a game plan on how you are going to stay healthy. When will you have time to hit the gym? What healthy options can you cook and when?
Substitute Healthier Meals When You Can //
With holiday dinners comes lots of heavy, hearty meals. When you are creating your meal plan for the week, try substituting healthier meals when you can rather than cooking lots of hearty meals at home. You should do this if you have a lot of events coming up within a week or two. Healthy meals I like to substitute is a big salad or spaghetti squash rather than regular spaghetti.
Keep Active //
Don’t confuse being busy with being active. It’s important that you find at least 30 minutes a day to get active. Not only does this help shed the pounds everyone gains during the holiday, but it gives you an excuse to unwind throughout the busy holiday seasons.
Use A Smaller Plate //
Now this might sound silly but I did this for a month and the results were noticeable. Eating on a smaller plate really does trick your mind into thinking that you are eating a lot. Plus, you get full faster. And if you are someone who goes back for seconds, the smaller plate will really feel like you just ate a normal amount. This is great if you have multiple events in one day, I highly suggest using the smaller plate hack. Your stomach will thank you later!
Stay Hydrated //
Water is your best friend. I know I’ve harped on this before but staying hydrated does so many great things for your body. It allows your to, obviously, stay hydrated while keeping your skin looking good, your energy up, and allows you to get full faster.
Snack Wiser //
Throughout the day, make sure you are making a conscious decision to snack wiser. Keeping healthy snacks in your purse is a must. By being prepared with your own snacks, you are least likely to run through the drive-thru and grab a greasy snack. One way to make sure you always have healthy snack is by subscribing to Little Life Box.
