It’s a new year and that means a new series. This year is the year of me and with that comes opening myself up so that you can learn more about me. Today I’m introducing you to the Ask Alexis series. Each month the Ask Alexis series with feature questions that you ask me. That’s right, I need your help to put this series on. These questions can be fun, they can be serious, they can be totally random, they can be about something you are dealing with and need advice, or whatever comes to mind. Be sure to leave your questions in the comments below or give me a shout out on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram!
Q: What’s my go-to cocktail?
A: Right now my go-to cocktail is Crown Apple and Cranberry. It tastes like a caramel apple sucker. Be careful with this drink because it goes down like candy but hits you hard.
Q: How do I deal with negativity on social media?
A: This is so hard. Nobody likes receiving negativity. If it’s a comment on social media, I usually just delete it. I always read what the comment says and determine if it’s something that I can learn from or is it just someone being hateful. If it’s the latter, I try to tune it out. If it’s something I can learn from, I usually ask a blogging friend for her advice on how to grow from it. Thankfully I get more positive/neutral responses so I really try to not sweat the negative comments. It’s just not worth my time.
Q: What has been my favorite and least part of wedding planning?
A: This is so hard. I’ve really enjoyed all things wedding related. If I had to choose, I’d say that picking out my wedding dress has been my favorite part of wedding planning. There was something so magical about trying on my dress and knowing it was the one. I actually found the dress I wanted on Pinterest before Brad and I were even engaged. I was scrolling through one day and just knew that it was the one. So I saved it on my secret board and when Brad and I got engaged, I prayed it was still available. Thankfully it was and I found it in a nearby town!
The least favorite part of wedding planning has been deciding who gets to make it on the guest list. I would absolutely love to invite everyone but unfortunately the budget just doesn’t allow it. It’s been a struggle to determine who stays and who has to go.
Q: What was the first CD I ever bought?
A: The first CD I bought was Backstreet Boys Millennium and the first CD I ever received was Spice Girls Spice World
Q: Where do I shop?
A: Right now I’ve been shopping at Marshalls like crazy because that’s really the only store we have. If I’m shopping online I’m all about Forever 21 and American Eagle. I just bought some super cute shirts at Piace Boutique that are perfect for Valentine’s Day (use code: ALEXISD for 10% off).
Q: In the morning, what’s the first thing you do?
A: The first thing I do is turn off my annoying alarm and then I stretch my body out while checking my notifications. I only check important things right away.
