Hi loves! I hope you all had a great week. I’m super excited to share with you my bridal shower that took place this past weekend. Stay tuned to find out all of the details!
My mom and sister organized and planned my shower with the help of my amazing bridesmaids and future mother-in-law. Since I’m not getting married in the church I grew up in, they decided that it would be the perfect place to have the shower. So my mom and sister went to Pinterest to search for ideas to host the perfect bridal brunch.
Brad made both the email and easel. My cousin wrote on the sign. I love having pieces that were made personally.
My mom found these wreaths on Pinterest and recreated them. You just take a grape-vine wreath, add some pretty flowers, and make a tulle bow/veil.
This is another sign that Brad and my cousin made. Natalie and I made the garland out of tissue paper. It was time-consuming but turned out perfectly!
The floral monogram B was a Pinterest creation that Brad and I worked on together. I love how it turned out! We just might have to name our future daughter a B name so we can use it in her nursery ;)
The vases used on the tables came from Dollar Tree. I highly recommend these vases if you are searching for vases. These vases are only $1 and you can order in bulk. They are the best quality. PS- I’m not being paid to say this. I honestly loved these vases. Also on the table was the shower favors that included a organza bag filled with a regular Lipton tea, a raspberry tea, and a green tea, a honey straw and tied with twine and a tag that read ‘Love is Brewing. Brad & Alexis 04.22.17’.
Also included on the table was a fun, quick bridal shower game. It was ‘How Well Do You Know The Bride’. I’ll share some of the questions and answers:
-What is the bride’s favorite movie? Star Wars
-Where did she meet the groom? College
-What is her drink of choice? Miller Lite/Coffee
-What is her middle name? Michelle
-Where did they get engaged? Myrtle Beach
-When is the wedding date? April 22, 2017
-Where will the honeymoon be? St. Lucia
-Who is her celebrity crush? Mark Wahlberg/Sophia Bush
The beverage table had wide variety options. We provided hot coffee, hot water for tea, orange juice, coffee punch and Hawaiian punch. The Hawaiian punch was simply Hawaiian punch, 7 Up, and raspberry sherbet.
For the food, we wanted to do a mixture of healthy and not so healthy. For the healthy side of the table we included greek yogurt, fruit and granola for parfaits, jam straws, and a lettuce salad.
Finally, we concluded the food with a wide variety of mini quiches served on hard, clear plastic plates. Everything tasted delicious and I couldn’t stop eating!
Of course we had dessert! On the dessert table you could find coffee cake, cupcakes, and homemade donuts. These are the tastiest donuts ever and they are super easy to make!
My future sister-in-law made my cupcake cake in the shape of a bride’s dress. It seriously turned out (and tasted) perfect. I was so excited when I saw it!
My beautiful mom and sister. Words can’t express how grateful I am to have them in my life. They threw my dream shower and have been so supportive throughout my 24 years of life.
My lovely future sister-in-laws, mother-in-law, and nieces. I’m so glad to be becoming a member of your family.
My beautiful future nieces and flower girls.
My mom and grandma.
My grandma on my dad’s side.
My cousin’s beautiful baby, Blaire.
My other cousin’s beautiful baby, Clara.
My lovely bridesmaids.
This is a blanket that my grandma knitted for me.
My future in-laws bought me the funniest gift out of all of them. I received a basket full of chips and salsa, tequila and margarita mix, my cow painting I’ve been dying to have and 4 books: How To Choose The Sex of Your Baby, What To Expect When You’re Expecting, Pregnancy Chic, and Are You There Vodka, It’s Me Chelsea. I think they are ready for more nieces and nephews!
My wonderful co-workers threw me a bridal shower while I was out-of-town two weeks ago.
I am so incredibly blessed to have such amazing friends and family who have been there for me through thick and thin and who are supporting Brad and I on our next adventure. There are just no words I can express to show just how truly thankful I am for each and every one of you.
What advice do you have for me as I transition from girlfriend to fiance to wife?
