The holiday season is upon us and the days are getting shorter and shorter. Before we know it Thanksgiving will be here. Thanksgiving can bring a lot of stress with trying to manage all of the dinners, plan your menu, and prepare our holiday shopping list. I’m all about having a stress-free Thanksgiving and preparing as much beforehand as I can. Today I’m going to be sharing tips on how to have a stress-free Thanksgiving.
How to Have A Stress-Free Thanksgiving:
Lists are going to become your best friend. Here are the important lists that you should be making:
- List of menu items
- List of recipes you want to use.
- A rough estimate of how many guests
Shop Early & Buy Extra.
There is nothing more frustrating than going to the store last-minute to buy your ingredients and they are sold out of an ingredient or your certain brand that you always buy. Be sure to head to the store early and buy everything you need. I also recommend buying extra ingredients. The reason I say that is you never know if someone is going to RSVP last-minute of heaven forbid something burns. Always be prepared.
Pull Out & Sort Ingredients Prior To Cooking.
Before you start cooking, pull out every ingredient ahead of time and double-check your recipes. There is nothing more annoying and frustrating then the day of Thanksgiving (or the day you have to cook) and not having all of the ingredients.
Pick Out Your Clothes Beforehand.
Preparing as much as you can before the big day is extremely important. The hours will fly by the day of and the less things that you have to worry about will make the biggest difference. Start thinking about what you want to wear and either pick it out that week or the night before. I have a recommendation on the perfect Thanksgiving outfit, be sure to check it out! This outfit is great too!
Lay Out Serving Dishes & Serveware the Night Before.
To avoid stress the day of, the night before go through and pull out all of the pots, pans, serving dishes, and serve ware. This will make sure you are prepped and prepared the next morning so you can start cooking right away. It’ll also ensure that everything is clean.
Set the Table Ahead of Time.
This is something that can be done a few days in advance and it will really save time the day of your dinner. By setting the table in advance, you don’t have to worry about rushing to get it done before your guests arrive. The day of, you will be so consumed with making sure all of your food is ready.
