This weekend was just what the doctor ordered, nice and relaxing. Friday night after work, Brad and I went to City BBQ to use one of our many gift cards we got for Christmas this year. It was a nice dinner date, we got there just in time before the dinner crowd rolled in. Once dinner was over, we went to WalMart, because who doesn’t love going to WalMart on date night. It amazes me the people that go into that store. No wonder we always go to Target when we need stuff that Krogers doesn’t carry. People really don’t look at themselves before leaving. It is called a mirror, hair brush, and real clothes, not pajamas!! Once we got more bullets for the gun, our next stop was home where we binged watched Scandal. First season done, woohoo!!
Saturday morning, Boone had an appointment to get his nails cut. His appointment was early in the morning, so once that was done, we went back to the apartment, made our coffee, and watched a few episodes of Scandal before going on with our day.

Today, I let Brad make all of our plans. He decided that we would go to the shooting range to shoot the new handgun. I made a good observer and watched Brad shoot. For being such a good sport, B treated me to lunch at one of our new favorite spots. I think the last time we were there was sometime in November and that was only our second time going. When we got in the restaurant and seated at the bar, the bartender remembered us and got our drink orders without us telling her. Now that is service! After lunch, we went back home and, you guessed it, watched more Scandal. I did manage to put all but a tiny bit of Christmas decorations away. I need to stop at Target and get one more container and it will be all put in storage. It not longer looks like Christmas in our sweet little apartment. It now looks bare since I am not replacing any of our decorations with anything since we are moving in just a few months. Sometime during the evening, we finally decided we were hungry, so Chinese it is.
Sorry for the dark picture, we wanted a
dim lit dinner, no really we were just too lazy to turn more lights on. I had the beef with broccoli and Brad had the sweet and sour chicken aka his usual. To end our super adventurous/relaxing Saturday, we finished season 2 of Scandal. We are knocking these episodes out of the park.
The only way to start a Sunday is with coffee, preferably with some kind of creamer (today was peppermint mocha), and a good book. The first book of 2015 is If I Stay. The temperature here in Ohio is dropping steady. Saturday was a high of 57 and Sunday was starting at 59 degrees and dropping to 16 degrees. Needless to say, we are hybernating. The only time Brad went outside was to take Boone out, get a haircut, and while he was out he got groceries for the week. Other than that, our Sunday was spent inside watching Scandal and reading. I know it sounds like we have such a boring life, but after spending the whole month of December going from one Christmas, to Brad’s niece’s birthday, to Christmases 2-4, and finally Christmases 5-8, a boring weekend at home is just what we needed. We got caught up on a TV show we have been meaning to watch, all of our laundry is caught up, and our Christmas stuff is finally put away. Believe me, I love our winter months where we spend our weekends at home doing nothing because once the weather starts to get warm, we are always on the move.
Just a side note, do not sit your Pepsi on top of the fridge/freezer and then open the freezer door. This is what happens.
The pictures don’t do the mess justice. Our tiny kitchen was covered in Pepsi, both Brad and I got Pepsi showers and I think Brad learned his lesson. These are the little things in life that we will look back on and laugh at. Moments like these are always dear to me.
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Have a great week & thanks for reading!
