It’s no secret that athleisure is my favorite trend. I live in it daily and preach to everyone that they need to try this look. I love everything about the comfy chic style and that it can literally go with everything. The athleisure trend isn’t just yoga pants and workout tanks but it can be the way you style jeans, casual dresses, and sweaters. My newest obsession when styling an athleisure look is dresses. Today I’m going to share with you tips on how to style an athleisure dress.
Athleisure is the casual and comfortable clothing designed to be suitable for workout and everyday wear.
How To Style An Athleisure Dress:
Add layers // When wearing a casual dress, simply adding a jean jacket or plaid shirt can quickly transform the look of your dress. If you are in a place that isn’t warm enough for layers, simply tie your jacket or shirt around your waist. Yes we are bringing back the 90s with this tip.
Put on your kicks // Pull out your sneaks and pair them with your dress. You might think I’m crazy but this will seriously transform your dress from dressy the athletic, which is exactly what you are going for. Sneakers are quickly becoming a huge trend and there are so many awesome styles out there. If you aren’t someone who wears sneakers often, select a pair that are neutral such as black, white, gray, and/or blush as these colors can be worn with multiple pieces.
Top it off // Yes, top off your look by adding a hat. Hats are great because like sneakers, they make your outfit look more athletic. Plus, you don’t have to worry about your hair being perfect because the hat is going to take the attention away from your hair. I love hats that support a team I love and are textured like leather or suede.
Exercise. Accessorize // The last way to style an athleisure dress is by accessorizing. While accessorizing is a great way to change your look, you are going to want to keep the accessorize minimal as to not dress up your look. Remember, keep it athletic, comfy, and chic. The best way to accessorize, in my opinion is by a simple handbag or tote bag and sunnies. You’re already rocking a hat as an accessory so you really don’t need much.
