The ultimate honeymoon packing list is here! It’s no secret that Brad and I’s honeymoon is quickly approaching. I’m pretty sure people are tired of me talking about but I just can’t help it, I’m way too excited. We have only 18 more days until we will be flying to St. Lucia. As someone who has never left the country, it’s been extremely overwhelming for me to decide on what items to pack and what items need to stay at home. I’ve done lots and lots of research to determine what should be brought to an all-inclusive resort. Today I’ve created the ultimate honeymoon packing list for someone going to on an all-inclusive resort honeymoon or even vacation.
The Ultimate Honeymoon Packing List:
Driver’s License, Passport, Boarding Passes: These are items that you cannot leave the house without. Be sure to check that all of these items are in your possession before you leave. When you get to your resort, you are going to want to make sure that these items are in a safe and secure location because you cannot get in/out of the country without these items.
Medical Insurance Card: You never know if an emergency might happen so be sure to pack your medical insurance card. Hopefully you will not need to use this but in case of emergency, it is with you.
Cash/Credit Card: These are pretty self-explanatory items to bring but it is definitely important to bring lots of cash. I also recommend getting a credit card with at least a $1000 limit in case you would somehow need to buy new tickets. It’s also important to have a decent amount of cash for excursions and whenever you need to tip someone. Our room comes with a personal butler so having cash to tip him/her will be important for us.
Sunscreen: It’s going to be hot, hot, hot! Make sure you pack lots of sunscreen as you will be more likely to burn in the hotter tropical sun. I recommend purchasing some amazing sun care products from Coola Suncare. They have a wide variety of sunscreens, lip products with SPF, makeup products with SPF, and more! **Product Recommendation: Coola Suncare Sport Sunscreen
Aloe Lotion: Let’s face it, no matter how hard you try to avoid burning, it’s more than likely going to occur. Be sure to pack some aloe vera lotion to soothe your burning skin. **Product Recommendation: Coola Suncare Repair
Bug Spray: When going anywhere warm and tropical bugs are going to be an issue. I’d definitely pack bug spray if you plan on doing any excursions in or around the jungle areas. Bug bites are no fun. **Product Recommendation: Bullfrog Mosquito Repellent
Razor, Shaving Cream, Deodorant, Perfume, Lotion: The essentials. No body wants hairy legs, dry skin, or smelly pits. **Product Recommendation: The Body Shop Travel Size Body Butter
Makeup: For most of your trip you won’t need to worry about putting on makeup because you’ll be swimming and laying on the beach, but when it’s time to go out to eat, you’ll want to dress up. Picking the right makeup is important. You’re going to want lightweight makeup that’s not too heavy and products that have SPF in them. **Product Recommendation: Coola Suncare Setting Spray
Undergarments: Packing the proper undergarments is super important. Be sure to pack comfortable panties for going to on excursions. You’ll also want to make sure you pack a good, high quality strapless bra that won’t cause you to be uncomfortable. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: Victoria’s Secret Body By Victoria Multi-Way
Lingerie: Hello, it’s your honeymoon! Adore Me has a great selection of reasonably priced lingerie. Their selection includes cute bras and panties, babydoll, super cute corsets and more! Plus, I love the price because I hate splurging on lingerie. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: Aife Babydoll
Swimsuits: I recommend bringing 2-4 swimsuits, especially if you will be there 5-7 days. It’s going to be hot and humid in the tropical islands which will make it hard for suits to dry. There’s nothing like putting on an cold, damp, uncomfortable swimsuits so packing multiple suits is important. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: Palm Tree Bikini
Coverups: I’m a huge fan over coverups. There are so many cute and stylish pieces that are perfect for throwing on over your swimsuit. I would pack 2-3 coverups and when choosing your coverups I would select a cute sheer one, one that’s more coverage, and one that’s more like a dress. You’ll want these coverups when walking around the resort, boat cruises, eating breakfast/lunch before or after going to the pool/beach. **Product Recommendation: O’Neil Cover Up
Dress Clothes: Resorts have dress codes and you will want to make sure that you are following the appropriate dress code for certain restaurants. For the sandals resort that we are going they have resort casual and resort evening wear. The evening wear consists of, for him: jeans or long pants, short or long sleeved dress shirts (collared preferably), dress shoes or nice sandals. For her, long skirts or dresses at or below the knees. I’d bring 4-6 options because you never know if you’ll want to eat at the restaurants that are evening wear only more. **Product Recommendation: Oh My Love Maxi Dress
Tops: I recommend packing 5-7 tops. Be sure to mix up your tops with nice shirts and casual tanks. **Product Recommendation: Eri + Ali Meg Scalloped Tank
Shorts: Shorts can easily be worn more than once so I would recommend 3-5 pairs. These pairs should consist of athletic shorts, denim shorts, and colored shorts. **Product Recommendation: American Eagle Midi Shorts
Light Sweater: While you wouldn’t think you’d need something a little warmer, you will find that restaurants will be a bit chilly with the air conditioning running. Plus once you get some sun on your arms, the air conditioning will make you chilly. **Product Recommendation: BooHoo Daisy Boyfriend Cardigan
Flip Flops: These are perfect for heading to the beach or to the pool. **Product Recommendation: Old Navy Flip Flops
Sandals: You’ll want a nicer sandal to head to lunch or dinner. These shoes should look nicer than basic flip flops. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: Giselle Sandal code: ALEXISD to save 10%
Wedges: If you are a wedges/heels girl, bring a pair that is versatile with multiple outfits. These will be perfect for dinners at nicer restaurants. If you aren’t a wedges/heels girl then bring one pair of dressier sandals that can be worn with multiple outfits. **Product Recommendation: Steve Madden Nilla Wedges
Tennis Shoes/Water Shoes: These shoes are perfect for the airport or going on excursions. **Product Recommendation: Jambu Water Shoes
Sunglasses/Sunhat: The sun is going to be super bright so you’ll want a way to escape the hot rays. Be sure to make multiple pairs of cheap sunglasses. I stress the cheap because there’s always the chance they won’t make it back and there’s nothing that’ll put you in a bad mood than losing your expensive shades in the ocean. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: Glamorous Rose Gold Sunglasses
Waterproof Case: You’ll want to take your phone along with you so that you can document all of your adventures. I highly recommend getting a waterproof case that’s perfect for your phone, room key, and cash. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: Waterproof Case 2-Pack
Chargers: Technology dies, make sure you have plenty of chargers. **Product Recommendation: Tech It Out Bundle
Insulated Cup: This was something that shocked me when doing my research. People kept talking about bringing an insulated cup because you’ll want a way to keep your all-inclusive drinks colder longer. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: RTIC 30 oz Tumbler
Driver’s License, Passport, Boarding Passes, Medical Insurance Card, Cash/Credit Card: You’ll want this items with you at all times. You’ll not only be needing these documents a 100 times while traveling, they are too valuable to leave just anywhere. Be sure your carry-on bag has a zipper so you don’t lose anything. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: The Getaway Passport Holder
Prescription Medicine, Pain Reliever, Dramamine, Visine, and Tissues/Wet Wipes: These are all important items that you’ll want with you as well. I highly recommend keeping these items in your carry on incase your luggage goes MIA. Plus you might need dramamine if you are prone to getting motion sick. **Product Recommendation: Vera Bradley Pill Case
Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Deodorant, Hair Brush, Hair ties, and Makeup: I list all of these items because you might want to freshen up during your layovers. Or if your suitcase arrives after you do for some crazy reason, you have the necessities with you. **Product Recommendation: Dogeard Makeup Bag
Blanket, Socks, Neck Pillow, and Eye Mask: If you have a long flight (our is 2 hours with a 2 hour layover and then an additional 5 hours), you’re going to want items that are going to help you be comfortable. Plus, if you are leaving super early in the morning, you’re going to be exhausted. Why not take advantage of the long flights and catch up on your sleep? **Product Recommendation: Sleep Mask
Change of Clothes: This item goes along with why your pack toiletries in your carry on. Pack with you one complete outfit and your swimsuit in case your luggage were to get lost. By having at least one outfit you’re able to at least shower and change or go swimming while you wait for your clothes to arrive. **Product Recommendation: T-Shirt Dress
Snacks, Water Bottle, Mints/Gum: You’ll probably get hungry or thirsty so you might as well bring your own. Be sure to check and make sure that your snacks are TSA approved. Gum is a good idea. You’ll want to chew gum while you are changing altitude levels to help prevent your ears from popping.
Foundation/BB Cream// CC Cream: When selecting which base to bring, you’ll want to select something that is light and definitely not heavy. If possible, select something that already has some kind of SPF included. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50
Primers: In order to make sure your makeup stays put, I recommend getting a primer. My biggest recommendation is to get a primer that already has SPF in it just incase your foundation/BB Cream/CC Cream doesn’t have any in it. The best way to save your face is by apply SPF to it directly. Your skin will thank me later. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: Coola Suncare Primer
Bronzer/Blush/Highlighter: I don’t know about you, but I’m all about that glow and giving my face some color. I’m going to taking with me a contour kit that includes a bronzer, blush, and highlighter so that I have one palette rather than bringing multiple items. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: ISH Contour Kit
Eye Shadow Palette: This will save you so much space. Find an eye shadow palette that has multiple colors that you will use with almost every outfit. I recommend keeping your eye look natural so your sunny glow shines through. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: Tartlette Amazonian Clay Matte Eye Shadow Palette
Waterproof Mascara, Eyeliner, Eye Brow Pencil: Buy as many items as you can that are waterproof. This will help your makeup stay on longer and you won’t have black junk running down your face if you decide to take a dip in the pool. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara
Lipstick and Chapstick: Your lips are definitely going to chap after being in the hot sun and the salty water. Be sure to keep them moisturized. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: Coola Suncare Liplux Sport SPF 30
Setting Spray: Now after you’ve spent all of your time getting ready for your evening out, make sure you set your makeup so that it doesn’t go sliding off in the humid night. **PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: Urban Decay Travel Size De-Slick Setting Spray
Face Wash/Cleanser/Eye Cream: Just like you would at home, be sure to keep your face clean.
Facial Sunscreen: If none of your beauty products come with SPF you’ll definitely want to buy some sunscreen that’s made for your face. It’s usually a little gentler on your skin.
Moisturizer: Just like your lips, your skin is going to get dry and irritated from laying out in the hot sun and swimming in the salty water. Make sure your hydrate and moisturize your face.
What to Leave Behind //
Beach Towels: The resorts will have plenty of beach towels so don’t worry about bringing them. They will also take up a lot of space in your luggage. If you’re anything like me, you’d rather skip the beach towel and pack an extra outfit.
Stress: If you are heading out for your honeymoon, then your wedding is over and all of the planning stress is over. Turn off all notifications nd ignore any emails and focus on you and your new spouse. After all you’re newly married and there’s a lot of celebrating to be done!
Hair Tools: No need to bring your hairdryer, most resorts will have one. If you aren’t sure, double check before you go. Also, there’s no need to bring your straightener, the humidity isn’t going to do anything with your hair. I recommend keeping your hair up and try some new hairstyles. And that’s a wrap!
